The Problem
In recent years the Israeli traffic becoming unbearable, more cities are being build,
but there is no appropriate and functioning public transportation,
most people count on their vehicle, and every year the traffic is getting heavier,
there is no underground or tram system, the tram system that is planed
is under construction and can take many years to complete and to function well.

The solution
15 minutes is a non profit organization that tries to solve this absurd situation.
Their proposition is a system of buses that functions as 'Main arteries'.
9 bus routes with Dedicated lanes that covers the heart of Israel.

15 minutes and HIT (Holon Institute Of Technology) Interactive Design Department
joined hands for this important goal.

I was one of the students in this project,
every student designed
An app
A Logo
The map.

These are my designs
The Design
I wanted the design to be
Organized
Simplistic
Refreshing

exactly the opposite of today's israel's public transportation image,
which is

Archaic, Chaotic, Cumbersome, and annoying.
The Logo design
I wanted the design to convey
Seriousness
Order
Precision

Which are currently lacking in the existing public transportation system

The map design
While researching on the topic of public transportation
maps, I got really fascinated by it.
Harry beck is my hero, he was an electrical engineer in the London Underground,
and in his spare time he designed the underground system map which was a mess.
As an engineer he designed a technical map, seems more like an electronic scheme than a map, but his design was a great success.
The rest of the underground maps around the world are based on his design.
I tried to follow his insights and principles while designing the map.

*In the video
Michael Bierut the graphic designer explains
the genius of the London Underground map.
